Sokaafrika Sports Academy marked 2017 season in style by taking part in the East Africa Chipukizi tournament, which was held in Arusha Tanzania. The team is represented in three team categories under-9, under-11 and under-13 categories. The under-9 category finished second in their poll and proceeded to the quarter finals, where they lost by a solitary goal against Ligi Ndogo Academy from Kenya.
Under-11 category were eliminated in group stages where they finished third in their group hence missing out of a place in the quarter finals.
Under-13 teams’ performance was excellent, they finished top of their group after beating Syokimau academy 2:0, beating all saints academy 3:0 and drawing against Tanzanirites football academy.
In the quarter finals they faced first touch academy from Kenya and won 2:0 hence proceeding to the semifinal where they faced express soccer from Kenya and lost 2:0
It was a good experience for the team and the technical bench ,a lot as learned both on and off the field and will be put in to practice come 2018
